Identity-aware AI photo editing

Identity preservation in AI photo editing

Elsa aims to keep generated edits recognizably connected to the source photo, but identity preservation is an intent rather than a guarantee.

Does Elsa preserve my identity in AI-generated photos?

Elsa's editing workflows are designed with identity preservation as an important quality goal. Because the result is generated by probabilistic AI models, Elsa cannot guarantee an exact likeness or unchanged facial details.

An intent, not a guarantee

Elsa uses a source photo to guide many style and beauty edits, and keeping the person recognizably connected to that source is a product quality goal. That wording matters: identity preservation describes the intended behavior, not a verified biometric match or guaranteed outcome.

Why results can vary

Generative models can change facial geometry, hair, skin texture, accessories, lighting, or background details. Larger requested changes and unclear source photos can create more variation.

  • Review each output rather than assuming it is accurate.
  • Do not use a generated image as proof of identity or an official record.
  • Retry with a clearer single-person photo if the result no longer resembles the source.

Use only permitted photos

Elsa is for adults aged 18 and over. Upload only photos you have the right to use, obtain consent from any other person pictured, and never upload photos of children for editing.
